2019.09.18 トンガ王国向け風力発電所整備計画案件完工

独立行政法人日本国際協力機構（JICA）の無償資金協力案件にて、トンガ王国向けに風力発電設備及び系統安定化施設の納入が、2019年9月に無事完了しました。

同国では、石油燃料に大きく依存しており、原油価格の変動対して非常に脆弱な状態です。電力生成のため、約1,300万リットルのディーゼル燃料が消費されており、そのコストは同国国内総生産の約10％及び輸入総額の約15％にまで及びます。[参考：Outer Island Renewable Energy Project—Additional Financing (ADB)]

本プロジェクトは、「2020年までに電力供給の50%を再生可能エネルギーで賄う」という目標達成に向けたプロジェクトの一つとしても位置付けられており、化石燃料を燃焼させる既存の発電方法を、環境に優しく信頼性の高い、より持続可能な発電方法へ移行していくことを目的としております。本プロジェクトにより整備された風力発電設備は、同国の再生可能エネルギーの利用促進、エネルギー安定供給へ大きく寄与するでしょう。

Successful Completion of the Project for Installation of Wind Power Generation System (Lot 2)

We, NBK Corporation, are pleased to announce that the Project for Installation of Wind Power Generation System (Lot 2), Grant Aid provided by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has successfully completed in September 2019.

Petroleum dependency makes the recipient country significantly vulnerable to oil price changes and shocks, and according to ADB (2019), an estimated 13 million liters of diesel is consumed for electricity generation at a cost that is about 10% of Tonga's gross domestic product and about 15% of the total value of imports. 

This project is a part of 'Tonga's Renewable Energy Road map, which aims to reduce an existing power generation method depended on fossil fuels and to shift to a more sustainable way, which is eco-friendly and reliable. The wind power farm will accelerate to use more renewable energy and contribute to stable energy supply in Tonga.
